Painting as rhythm, contrast and transformation
My work begins with a free gesture and develops through strong contrasts and layered brushstrokes, allowing new, often surreal forms to emerge spontaneously as I paint. I work primarily in oils, building the painting through thin, transparent layers, as well as in acrylics, while linear drawing provides the foundation for each new space.
Although my practice is deeply rooted in European abstract expressionism and post-Cubist figuration, it continually reaches towards the metaphysical. On canvas, I build layered, interconnected worlds in which boundaries dissolve — forms float freely between pure abstraction, recognisable figures, landscape and architecture. Throughout this ongoing exploration, colour and an inner rhythm remain my main structure and guiding forces.
Between Stillness and Intensity
Art does not arise from peace, but from the rift between stillness and intensity.
My practice rests on the collision of these two forces: the need for inner calm and the power with which life sets us in motion, time and again. This is not a search for a final answer, but a conscious surrender to the rhythm of existence as it continually changes, flows and takes new forms.
Each work is a quiet imprint of that inner struggle — an attempt to capture the fluidity of life and its ceaseless change in a web of colour, line and form. I do not seek static harmony, but a balance that quivers, that lives and breathes with the world around us and within us.
All that remains on the canvas is a trace of that search — an attempt to feel and record the pulse of what is constantly changing.
